Expect to see the iPad 2 this April, that least that the prediction from an analyst at the Wall Street. Brian Marshall of Gleacher & Co., has bravely said that Apple will roll out the next generation of its iPad tablet device this summer.
Quoted by ComputerWorld, he based his prediction on information he has about the upcoming CDMA iPhone, he said:
I think April is the proper time-frame for an iPad 2. Since I’m projecting that Apple will release a CDMA iPhone in March, both will help to equalize Apple’s seasonality.
Rumors about the CDMA iPhone, which could run on Verizon’s network have been circulating around the tech media and blogs lately.
However, Marshall has cautioned consumers to expect only modest upgrades to the iPad 2. The device will still come in the current configurations: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB of storage.
The biggest upgrade will be a front-facing camera which would allow iPad users to use FaceTime, the video calling software that debuted with the iPhone 4.
It is expected for Apple to sell another 6 million iPads by this year’s end, adding to the 7.5 million already sold.
If those sales numbers are accurate, next summer would be something to look forward to for Apple (on the numbers side) and Apple fans who want a little more from their iPad based devices.
The next-gen iPad is expected to feature two cameras, a front-facing camera and a rear-facing camera, this means like the iPhone 4 you can have conference FaceTime calls using applications from the App Store, you will be able to do HD video recording.
Memory will be much better, multitasking has been suggested as well, which is good news if all true, could possibly feature a 2GHz processor possibly based on the ARM Cortex A9. Could the price be around about the same as the current iPad?
As regards to the new app via iTunes SkyFire, you know the app that coverts Flash Content is NOT available for the iPad as of yet, it has not yet been optimized yet. We will let you know as soon as it has been released for the Apple iPad.
