A new study from researchers at Jay W. Forrester's institute at MIT revels that the world could go through "global economic collapse" and "abrupt population decline" if people carry on to consume the world’s scarce resources. The study's researchers shaped a computing model to estimate different scenarios based on the current models of population expansion and global resource utilization.
Most of the computer scenarios identified population and economic growth continuing at a steady rate until about 2030. But without drastic measures for environmental protection, the scenarios foresee the likelihood of a population and economic crash soon to take place.
