A few years ago I looked forward to coming to work, but management has changed several times since then and since then it seems the upper management does not care about anything or anyone as long as we make them look good for their bosses. Bonuses are gone because others make commitments to blow other departments budgets and they don’t care. They preach a inclusive environment, but they never include or understand anyone whose opinion may be different. You can have a work life balance as long as you don’t mind seeing your family awake 2 hours a day. If you do not jump at anytime and be a yes person, you are either shown the door or live in fear that you will be at anytime

Glad I found this site. All of the information on CCE is so spot on. I always wondered if i was @ the worst sales center and the others were great>>>guess not. Your job is NOT secure ever. They are going WAY too far with gender and race diversity hiring practices. I believe that the practice IS important, no question, however they hold on to the diverse candidates way too long even if they are horrible since they are checking the box. I have wasted 7 years of my life with CCE and I cannot wait to leave. Employees are threatened for motivation and exited quickly when they challenge the management. Pay is sub par and bonuses are set up so that its impossible to achieve 100%. Management is all “good ole’ boy” style and they discourage you talking to other employees or having a friendship. This is mainly due to the fact that they are worried big time about employees getting together and conspiring. Zero recognition, zero potential for growth and whats the worst thing, tons of great high potential people working in sub-management roles. I wish I had another positive but I don’t. The fact that I still work there is blowing my mind, I need to check out the job websites…as I do daily.
Dish Network

Just let go today for a bold face lie told by a customer I installed. No support from the company I worked my butt off for, just rolled out of the way and let the bus hit me. Thought it was a great job when I first got on but then noticed the lack of common sense management had in wanting to change things every week. Having us drive out on the highways during bad snow storms knowing there was a good chance there would be accidents, in which there were. I never thought TV was worth a life but I see in their minds it is. Thought things would be different with the new management brought in but it only went downhill from there morale wise. Seemed like techs were dropping off month after month, figured I would ride out the storm only to get blindsided by a wave of lies. Much respect to my FSM’s on my shift and my IM for at least doing it face to face. I leave holding my head up and feeling relived to get the 500lb gorilla of my back. No I did not sign the contract for the customer and Dish Network can go to hell for not backing me up.

This company was once great. Since they hired or promoted people that did not deserve to be promoted (management, upper management) it has gone down the toilet. Especially in the North Richland Hills Office. With that moron Wes and the little puppet man higgins the office has turned union. These two think they ‘re doing a great job but in fact no one respects them. Both are want -a-be leaders that deserve to be demoted. There’s something going on in this office, how else can you explain a GM getting away with a lot of shit when he is hardly in the office or forgets to do something and drops the ball. This little man has no respect for no one except for the people pulling his strings. He talks down to his employees and (except for the ones he likes) and treats them like idiots. His IM is even more of a an idiot. Don’t know why he is still employed here…oh wait he’ll do anything to keep his job… I would advise anyone interested in working for this shit company to make sure you have some type of lube especially if you’re working in the North Richland Hills Office because Higgins likes to blame you for his lack of leadership, and that’s if you even see him in the office. I’ve seen people like these make mistakes and still they are employed. Most of the people I worked with here in this office no longer work here. I feel threaten all the time I show up for work. I feel I have a giant bulls eye on my back and my job is at risk every day. The one thing I hate the most is when these two fuckers Higgins and Crow come up to me in the morning and say good morning how are you doing today?, have a good day…what a bunch of fucking assholes. They could be saying that to me in the morning and the next time I see them I could be sitting in an office with them both being told I was fired. One of my co-workers once told me that Dish is a training place for Direct TV. Isn’t that true..
Macys
From Spokane, WA
I hate Macy’s or as I have recently dubbed it “The Devil Star.” I worked there for a year and a half while I was finishing up college and it was a massive disappointment. We always had these goals of 2 credit apps per 40 hours worked and then, shortly before I left the goal rose to 3 credit apps / 40 hours worked. Ridiculous. This may be possible in departments such as juniors, where the clientele is dumb enough to fall for the 25 % interest rate in order to save 15% or 20% off of a one time purchase; however not so in the Fine Jewelry Department where they sold industrial grade diamonds for 50% off. People who buy that kind of junk jewelry are only going to buy it on their Black level Macy’s card. It was so infuriating to have some spunky pants manager come over to critique your apps or review your scorecard and tell you, basically, that you were lazy and not living up to your potential, and that you were hurting the store by not achieving higher numbers. They also had a metric on this score card dubbed “penetration” which measured the number of purchases rang under your associate number that had been purchased using a Macy’s card. So, for example if one person came through and paid with cash or debit card, your “penetration” metric would suffer. Management came by to critique me once about my “penetration” metric which was at 99% for a 6 month period (meaning that 99% of all of my sales had been on a Macy’s card by) and when I said “well look at it, I have a 99% achievement level” the managers came back was an unimpressed ” well you still have to work on that 1%” ARE YOU SERIOUS? Even worse, when asked about why the cost of a white gold ring was less expensive than its equal in yellow gold, the fine jewelry regional manager of the ENTIRE WEST COAST answered with this ” well because white gold isn’t actually gold, so its less expensive…………….” Actually science would beg to differ I feel. And last but most certainly not least, When the Today Show secret shopped Harold Square in New York and purchased 4 ruby rings from Macy’s Fine Jewelry, they discovered that 3 of the 4 had been massively treated with heat treatments, polymer fills and even dye. None of this had been revealed to the customer up to this point, and only after this had been revealed were we trained on the treatments that the stones from Macy’s had undergone. Prior to that expose, management had told us that we were to tell our customers that the stones were untreated and natural. Basically defrauding our unassuming customers. If Macy’s is the only job you can get at any given time, make sure that you don’t wind up there for an extended period of time. Quit ASAP when you find employment elsewhere or I swear it will make you crazy.

Working at Macy’s was a total disaster. I somehow managed to work there nearly a year after college, and I am so unbelievably grateful to be out of the chaos! Expect to be talked down to and treated like a child by management. The associates are the ones slaving on the sales floor, while the management is doing who knows what… My department manager was barely seen but when she was she would scold me on my lack of credit cards. I was a “Vendor Specialist” for one of their brands and I put a lot of effort into making that section look great and selling to customers (when I could – I also spent a lot of time cleaning out HORRIFYING fitting rooms). My store had the highest sales in the district for that brand. How was I repaid? I got put on “probation” for being like 10 “Loyalties” short of my goal. If I didn’t meet a certain goal during my probation time I would be demoted. I am all about helping customers and selling, but forcing a high-interest crappy credit card on a customer is not something I wanted to do. Apparently we just couldn’t take no for an answer! “Loyalties” are really the only way you are considered OUTSTANDING!! Everyone slightly loses their sanity here and it’s one big gossip fest. I would not recommend working here unless you are desperate and maybe you end up having a good manager. This company is awful and definitely going down the drain. I found a new job in management at a specialty store and while it is still retail, I am much happier and paid better.
Target
From Brandon, Fl
The team leads acted so bubbly and happy to the point that it was sickening. I felt like they didn’t really care about me or my needs, and they hired new cashiers left and right so who were they replacing?? I felt very disposable and in the end I was. I always tried to be so cheery and happy with customers, but I’d look over at any other cashier and they’d be so stone-faced and rude. Yet these were the cashiers they kept permanently! How can you be so rude to your customers and still have job security? I don’t get it. I worked later than scheduled every single night and I usually didn’t get home until 12, yet if you actually go and clock out when you are scheduled to, they won’t come to the front and let you out at night. Instead, you are stuck for at least 15 minutes because the managers feel spiteful that you’ve actually clocked out on time. I will say the store manager was a really really nice guy, but all the other leads and managers just seemed so fake in their never-ending joy to be working at target. They paid me a measly $7/hr and I would’ve be eligible for a $0.25 raise in a year. Hell, when I worked at Costco, they paid me $4 more per hour and they gave me a $0.25 raise at the end of my 3 month probationary period. Maybe this job would have been more tolerable at a different store, but my time here was unbearable. Plus, it seems like the Target corporation doesn’t give a damn about the happiness of its employees. I only suggest a job here if you have never had a job before and are younger than 18. Otherwise, stay far away.
From Longmont, CO
I was working here for over a year, everything was great and dandy UNTIL the day happens where i was off the clock i asked a co worker ( who i thought was a friend) i asked this co worker to hang out i mean is this a bad thing? so what they did was they wrote me up off the clock for asking someone to hang out but not just that also while i was off the clock going to pick up my pay check, one of the co workers fathers walks up to me and says are you such and such, i say yes why? he said i want you to stay away from my Kid and said if i didn’t or if he saw me again he would kill me, so i told this to the manager and guess what?..they didn’t do shit expect write me up and say it was all my fault, all i was doing was getting a pay check, minding my own damn bossiness and some random asshole walks up to me, and they wouldn’t do anything? so much for that dude who stares at ya when you walk in the front door doing anything, a lot of good he does maybe a fat woman who knows? she might be good for sitting on ya, if your reading this and got some kind of offer here i suggest work at wal mart before here, hell work at some sweat shop one more thing the pay SUCKS!!! they don’t pay you enough to deal with all that bullshit through out the day DONT WORK HERE!! Run just run if they give you a job it ain’t worth it
Wells Fargo
From Western
Wells Fargo Bank is a great company to work for if you don’t expect to go anywhere in life. It’s true, you can be a good employee and perform, and you’ll get paid below industry average, all the while being stressed out about the next solution or the next “coaching” session. This bank is all about telling your manager what they want to hear. That’s all it is. They talk about PACA, People As a Competitive Advantage, and how important we all are. But every day, the culture tells us we’re worthless, our opinions are stupid and all we need to do is be a robot and say, “Welcome to Wells Fargo!” ad nauseum. Even to the customers that come in every day. What’s worse, during Q12 time, the company butters up the employees with token gifts like MnM’s in a jar, and crap like that to cajole better numbers out of the annual poll. (Which is remarkably stupid because the turnover rate for employees is about 75% annually in some places… Good move!), and the poll itself is a joke too… but that’s something else.. I have seen people report unethical sales conduct, only to have it made “legit” by some management figure in an ivory tower. It made numbers right? WFB is an amazing american company… only because it represents capitalism in its most barbaric, cut-throat form. As a place to work, wow, the company gets worse and worse and worse every year. Not only do you get underpaid, nobody cares about you, your benefits are okay, you are constantly threatened with “corrective” action, and are told that if you don’t like it leave, they don’t care about your real life… I’ve seen people get written up because they had to stay home with their sick kid, it’s really sad. You CAN make it at WFB, but it takes guts and glory. Most people who work here have to be incompetent, I do nothing but fix issues for customers from bankers/tellers/managers who have no idea what they are doing. And the work environment… wow… wells fargo talks diversity, and they say they value it… until it becomes a liability and then it’s shut your trap or be canned. Great place to work.
